DJ Josh's music style emanates from playing to audiences spanning nationally across Australia since 1984. She started collecting 7” + 12” vinyl at the ripe age of 7 years old and grew up listening to AM radio, watching countdown and various music shows that spawned in the early 70’s. Her fascination of music started well before her teens. She is highly by influenced by artists who spawned from the dance music and queer generation in the early 80's from Diva's of Italio House to Hi NRG Euro beat. With European blood Josh has been addicted to the German/European trance style for many years now and has played nearly every genre of dance music in her career to date!

DJ Josh has become an Australian DJ’ette icon with a national profile that crosses gay/straight/young & old audiences spanning over 25 years in 2009. Josh hailing from Adelaide has managed top ranking positions in the Top 50 DJ poll since its humble beginnings and is still the reigning queen in SA above her male counterparts. Josh is the first SA DJ to play 4 Sydney gay lesbian Mardi Gras with major set times and billing her most recent set in the sell out 30^TH ANNIVERSARY Mardi Gras in the HORDEN PAVILLION, Josh has also clocked up memorable gigs at 2 Sydney sleaze balls and in the past 2 decades has become a household name at some of Australia’s biggest and smallest Gay/Lesbian clubs, dance parties and events. From GIRLFEST 2005 & 2006, BRISBAN SLEAZE, THE WICHKAM (QLD), LEMON-AID, ON THE OTHER SIDE, KINSELA’S, THE GLOBE, NV, STONEWALL, MIDNIGHT SHIFT, ARQ (SYDNEY), To parties such as SIN MILLENIUM 1999 (Vic Melbourne docklands), THE DOME, THE MARKET, VMS, OOSH, GIRL BAR, VIPER ROOM, THREE FACES, WINTERDAZE (VIC) plus DARWIN PRIDE, LaLa LAND TASMANIA, ADELAIDE FEAST FESTIVALS & SLEAZE BALLS.

JoSH as well as being a DJ & music producer was responsible for promotional and event management for her Gay/lesbian nights LICK monthly and GIRLS NIGHT OUT in Adelaide along with the promotions and shows for BEANS BAR, 1999, 1998 & 1997 Adelaide Sleaze balls. Josh was awarded the HALL OF FAME trophy and 2 ARTS INDIVIDUAL AWARDS from the gay community in SA before she let loose on the national broader market way back in 1994 in which she has established herself as one of this countries most well known lesbian DJ’s cracking the straight market. JoSH added to her long resume & career her talent to becoming Radio personality with radio shows on Adelaide’s Fresh Fm hosting the Australian and Local show FRESH AIR, her signature show PLEASURE SESSION (trance show) to breakfast, drive and afternoon slots covering 3 weekdays. Josh was also the Saturday night mix up DJ for NOVA 91.9 for 3 years when it first aired in SA. With a CV way too long to mention her past 25 years of service to the Australian Dance music History is still growing strong you just have to ask anyone who has spent a night on the dance floor in the past 25 years to date and I can guarantee they will tell you they spent at least 1 memorable night with DJ JoSH, That DJ girl with the boys name!
